To understand the fundamental mechanistic bases of global environmental change, and to predict how this on-going change will continue to alter marine ecosystems and biogeographic patterning, a multi-disciplinary and integrated analysis is required. The Panel is summarizing the existing scientific information on the interacting impacts of hypoxia, ocean acidification, and changes in temperature on the physiology of west coast species and projecting how these physiological effects may translate into biogeographic and ecological changes.
